Earth Hour - March 26, 2011

We only have one planet, one Earth so we have to preserve it to the best of our abilities and even only through small but continuous steps. With climate change and global warming posing imminent danger and ecological risks these days each and every one of us should be aware.

The Earth Hour 2011 is a yearly activity that started 5 years ago which encompasses the participation of private and public organizations and individuals. It aims to bring about cooperation and global understanding on the pressing issues of environmental hazards and the threats that our Mother Earth is facing these days. The people behind it has so far claimed positive results and raving outcome especially in terms of community support and awareness. It is good to know that this year's facilitation of Earth Hour is aimed towards MEANING rather than on mere figures.

What can each of us do to help Mother Earth beyond Earth Hour 2011? Honestly, I wasn't that aware of it before but my hubby helped me understand its importance. We live in the rural area, away from the hustle and bustle of the city so while we didn't actually felt the spirit of the "lights out" activity for Earth Hour we vowed to continue doing these activities that help the environment in one way or another. These are the following:

1) USING THE BICYCLE AS A PRIMARY MODE OF TRANSPORTATION
2) GARBAGE SEGREGATION
3) USING ORGANIC MEANS OF FERTILIZERS ON PLANTS
4) AVOID THE BURNING OF DEAD LEAVES/GARBAGE
5) RECYCLE PLASTIC MATERIALS

I know, in our own small way we are doing our share to preserve Mother Earth. And it's a reassuring thought for me! Let us all continue to help out, in our own small way in contributing steps and ways to make this world a better place to live...

Nice Monday morning to everyone!! Excited for this week's new set of questions! Here's my share, friends!
1. What jewelry do you wear 24/7?

The only piece of jewelry that I wear 24/7 is my wedding ring! I got some fake silver earrings and bracelets but I take them every so often since they're a bother when I'm doing laundry or taking a shower!!

2. Do you twirl your spaghetti or cut it?

Definitely twirl it!

3. How many siblings do you have?

I only have 1 sister, her name's Sandra and though she's younger by 2 years she towers over me!

4. Were you named after anyone?

Not that I know of, although I know for a fact that my godmother was the one who handpicked my name and said she got it from the Bible.

5. Coke or Pepsi?

Coke, through and through!!

Well there, my friends, hope you liked my share for this week!Catch you all again next Monday and kudos to Lady Java for hosting the meme as always, keep up the good works!!

GT- Songs That Make Us Cry!

Hi again my dear friends! The topic this week can really make us emotional in a way but let's face it, songs that make us cry are as much a part of our journey through life. Just as it was with memorable songs of the heart that allow us to reminisce a phase and stage of our existence the songs that make us cry can awaken strong feelings of deep emotions in us whenever and wherever we hear it..

This one song that can really bring tears to my eyes everytime is MILES AWAY by Colin Blundstone released sometime in the year 1981. This was a special song that I used to share with someone really special...

Well, hope you appreciate it just as I always did! Happy GT,my friends!!

GT- Music of my heart!

Hi mga ka-gt! Nice Thursday to you all! There are countless songs that I really, really love but this song I'd like to share with you all is kinda sentimental. It reminds me of my beloved father who passed away. As far as I can recall this was the song he was going "gaga" during that time just few months before his untimely demise in the year 1994. I can still picture him out now, singing along with the song everytime it's played over the radio while I kid him all the time that it's a girly song! My apologies, this may sound soo unromantic to some but this song makes me reminisce about my beloved papa in ways I cannot fathom....

Enjoy the song, FALLEN,by Lauren Wood! Happy GT to all!

GT- Turn That Darn Music OFF!!!

Hi there my friends! Another month and another set of exciting, new topics for us! Music...it's supposed to wash away the stress, the worries and aims to relax us so I do not see any point at all how heavy metal rock can be categorized as music! Here's just a sample of the so-called heavy metal genre that makes me feel like screaming to the top of my lungs the words..."TURN THAT DARN MUSIC OFF!!!"

HAPPY GT EVERYONE!!See you all next week! Kudos to Kaye for coming up with great, juicy topics everytime!!
